My TopĀ 10 Disney Movies

19/7/2015

Picture
Hello everyone.

Who doesn't love Disney?!
The music, the magic, the characters, the excitement. What's not to love?

Today I'm going to do my Top 10 Disney (and Disney Pixar) Movies. They're not in any particular order though because I don't have a favourite!  Enjoy :)
Picture
1. Cinderella
One of the classics!
I've watched this movie since I was really young and have always loved it. It's all so magical. I love all the animals in it and how they are her only real friends/family. Also the dress her fairy godmother gives her is amazing! Love it!
2. Toy Story
Love the fact that all the toys are alive! Also love that this film is for everyone, because everyone has played with a toy and believed it to be alive at some point in their life so are able to relate to this film. Love all the films but I must admit Toy Story 3 is a bit emotional! I won't give any spoilers in case you haven't seen it! Love Bullseye so much!
Also the song "You've got a friend in me" is so lovely.

Snow White

Snow White and the Huntsman
3. Snow White
A real classic. Not going to lie I always found the Witch Queen scary! Love the 7 dwarfs work song, such a catchy tune!
Still got this movie on VHS Video!
Also love the new film based on this Snow White and the Huntsman.

4. Frozen
Amazing film! Elsa is just amazing. I also really want her dress... :)
It's got so many amazing songs and wonderful story. I've watched this movie so many times and want/need to watch it again ASAP! Also how cute are Olaf and Sven?

Sleeping Beauty
Picture
Maleficent
5. Sleeping Beauty
Love, Love, Love this one! I always used to make my mum dance with me when the song "Once Upon a Dream" came on. I practically was Aurora. I've watched it so many times but it never gets old.
Also love the new movie called Maleficent. It's so exciting seeing the other side of the story! (Also Angelina Jolie is amazing!)
6. Beauty and the Beast
Love the French setting for this film. Also love all the talking furniture. Especially Mrs Potts and Chip :)
Although to be honest I prefer the Beast as a beast rather than when he turns into the Prince! Haha
Picture
Picture
7. Jungle Book
Amazing songs. Always end up singing them for at least a week after watching the film! Such a good story of the animals looking after a human. I met some of the characters when I went to Disney Land, it was amazing! :)
8. Tangled
Love all the humour in this movie. Max the horse is so cute and funny. Rapunzel's hair so beautiful! Also I think the tower she lives in is pretty amazing (other than the fact she can't get out of it!)
Picture
Picture
9. Fantasia
I'll admit its a VERY long movie, but it's where it all started! Mickey Mouse is Disney. Love the part where Mickey works for the wizard. (I won't give any spoilers!)
10. Finding Nemo
Everything in the film is beautiful. The graphics of the sea etc. are amazing. I love fish, haha. Dory is so funny. Also all the fish in the tank at the dentist surgery all have great personalities.
Picture
Thank you so much for reading and I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long.
There are loads more Disney movies I love, but obviously I don't have time to write about them all!
I'm going on holiday tomorrow so when I get back I will hopefully have lots and lots of photos to share. Might also be doing a summer lookbook or travel vlog for my NEW youtube channel! ...Might even do both videos, you never know ;-)

Picture
Hey everyone!
Thought I would just do a few favorites from May as a lot of the things will be the same as previous months.
Also we've finally got some sun and warm weather here in the UK! It's about time!

1. Pitch Perfect 2
One word: AMAZING!!
2. Sims 2
My new obsession!
I got it for free ages ago and finally got it to work. Haha I love it!

3. Twilight Saga Movies
Loving these at the moment. I get so excited when you see the Cullen family for the first time!
Picture
4. Arizona - Pomegranate Green Tea
I tried the other green tea drink in this brand (think it was the honey one) and decided I don't really like it. But this one is so nice! Its really refreshing. I also got mine from the 99p shop, so its even better because it was so cheap!

Picture
5. Sushi
I've had sushi before and love it. I also love smoked salmon and cucumber so this one was extra yummy :)
Thanks for reading, please comment what you would like to see on my next post.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted in ages!

For the last 8 months (ish) I have been suffering with bad tonsillitis just about every week.
As I have just started my GCSEs being ill has really affected my studying and exam prep. So recently I started going to the doctors to see what was the matter (as you are not really supposed to get tonsillitis that often). They did a blood test to test me for glandular fever and various other things, but they all came back negative (so I don't have glandular fever etc.)
The other day they prescribed me antibiotics to try and stop the problems as they don't really know what is wrong with me. I am also going back for another blood test soon.
The other dayI woke up and my epiglottis was sticking up (which it is not supposed to do and is VERY rare for people in the UK due to vaccinations) so I was sent to hospital to be tested by a different doctor. He also didn't know what to do so sent me to a DIFFERENT hospital to have my throat looked at by specialists. They didn't really know what to do either so sent me home and told me to come back if it got any worse.
So overall I have managed to baffle the whole NHS with my throat problems.

Also another reason why I haven't been able to post much is my internet is playing up so haven't been able to access it for what seems like ages! So annoying! You don't realise how much you depend on the internet until you don't have it!

I've also just finished all my GCSE exams for this year (*) so should be able to post more from now on.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

23/5/2015

Hey everyone, I thought I'd do a baking blog post today to try and vary my blog content so everyone can show some interest and relate to it.

As my sister has an egg and nut allergy everything I bake is egg and nut free.
This is one of my favourite recipes.
Also these cookies are just as good without the cocoa powder, so do try with and without it to see which you prefer (comment below your favourite).

You will need:
45g granulated sugar
85g self-raising flour
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
30g nut-free cocoa powder
55g butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
45g icing sugar (for coating)
Picture
1. Place the sugar in a medium bowl. Sift in the flour, bicarbonate of soda, and cocoa powder.

Measure and add the sugar to the bowl

2. Mix the ingredients in the bowl.

3. Add the butter and rub in with your fingers until the mixture has the consistency of breadcrumbs.

4. Stir in the golden syrup and mix well.

5. Draw the dough together with your hands to form a ball and then divide the dough into 16 pieces for small biscuits or 8 large biscuits (I made 13 cookies, because I decided I wanted them medium sized! It's up to you how many you make, just make sure you don't burn them in the oven if you make lots of small ones, as they will need less time to bake).
Chill them in the fridge (or somewhere cool) for at least 30 minutes.

6. Preheat the oven to 180C (350F, gas 4). Line 2 baking trays with baking parchment (I had already put my dough on the baking trays before I cooled them).
7. Roll each ball of dough in icing sugar, coating very thickly. (This is the point where you would place them on the baking tray at least 3-4cm apart, if you haven't already done so).
Picture
Coat in icing sugar
8. Bake in the oven until attractively cracked on the top and still a little bit soft in the center. Check the small cookies after 10 minutes and the double-size cookies after 12 minutes.
9. Take the cookies out of the oven and allow to firm up before removing from the tray (as they will be all squishy and floppy!)
10. Enjoy!

Exams

Hey, everyone!

I realise a lot of you will be looking a the title of this and think "oh this is going to be another one of those boring 'motivational' posts about how to "survive" exams"  I won't carry on reading.
But I want to make this a blog post a real achievable exam/stress helper.
Picture
Aim high, but not too high
Yes you should definitely aim high but don't aim too high so that you are out of your depth and under too much pressure.
Revision
Revision obviously helps you do well in exams but don't do too much of it in one go. So don't leave it until 2 days before your exam to start revising because you will stay up too late, get up early, go to school, won't be able to concentrate properly, get home, feel tired, start revision, stay up too late... and the cycle will start again, leaving you stressed and exhausted.
Plan out a timetable for revision and try your best to stick to it.
e.g. Monday
7:00am - Wake up/get up
8:00am - Travel to school
3:00pm - Travel home from school
3:30pm - Get home, get a snack
3:45pm - Start revision
4:45 - Break
5:00 - Revision
6:00 - Eat dinner/tea
7:00 - Look over revision notes
7:30 - Collect in all revision notes and organise them into a easy visual way for you to look at later
8:00 - Shower/watch TV etc.
9:00 - Get things ready for school tomorrow
9:30 - Flick through revision notes while watching TV (don't do heavy revision at this time of night)
10:00 - Get ready for bed
10:15-10:30 - Go to bed

If its a nice day, go outside and revise this will help clear your brain and get you some fresh air, therefore making you more calm.
Revise somewhere where you will not get distracted.
It might be a good idea to keep moving around to different quite places to revise, to keep you mind active and interested.
Notes
Keep your notes organised and neat to make revising easy. It's often good to highlight key points in your revision notes, such as key definitions, so it is easier for you to read and remember things.

My April Favourites

5/5/2015

Hey everyone,

So as it's now May, I thought I would do a monthly favourites blog post (April edition).
(I will add links to as many items shown in this blog post as possible)

1. Chocolate
As it was Easter this month (I understand not everyone celebrates this occasion) I ate a fair load of chocolate. My favourites, as usual, were all the things Cadbury related.
Picture
2. Beauty
I have had a few firm favourites this month, the first one is the Zoella Beauty Creamy Madly Dreamy body lotion. I love the scent (described as Fresh and Girly) and feel of this lotion (I don't usually like body lotions because of the way a lot of them sit on top of your skin and take a while to sink in), also the design of the bottle is really cute and the colours are really pretty. The second product is the Simple KIND TO SKIN refreshing facial wash gel, (see Skin Care blog post for my thoughts on this). The next beauty item is a Facial Cleansing Pad, I use this with the Simple KIND TO SKIN refreshing facial wash gel every night. It has done my skin WONDERS, I am so happy with it. For as long as I can think I have had blackheads in the creases on my face, this Facial Cleansing Pad has got rid of these and left my face feeling so smooth and soft, it is amazing!! The next product is a Powder Brush from Wilko (Wilkinsons), it looks and feels so soft and lovely and was a good price too!! Finally, I have also been loving the POLKA eau de toilette roll on perfume. I keep this in my handbag/school bag, as it is so small and easy to carry. It is a fruity, summer scent so is great to get you in the summer mood.
Picture
3. Notebooks
Who doesn't love a good notebook?!
Every time I see one in a shop I buy one, it's a habit of mine, I'm addicted. Haha.
Picture
4. The Vamps
The Vamps are obviously always my favourites, but this month I got to go and see them!!
I got tickets for me and my friend to go and see them live at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena on 24th April.
It was the most incredible experience of my entire life!! I loved it so much and hope to go and see them soon. (Fingers crossed they do an album tour in November!)
It was a memorable experience, not only the concert but traveling there because all the trams to the Arena had been stopped due to finding unexploded WW2 bombs near the track!! But we managed to get there eventually after battling our way through lots and lots of traffic!!

5. Entertainment
This month I read the book Girl Online by Zoe Sugg, it was really good I loved it. It had a good story line and I fell in love with all the main characters, and felt like I was in the story. It also inspired me to start this blog!! The design of the cover is also really pretty, my favourite colours.
I have also been loving the app/game call ZigZag
