Teapigs

Hello everyone!

The lovely people at teapigs. sent me a few samples of their tea to try recently.
Personally, I don't really like 'normal' tea so it was lovely to try a few different flavours.
My favourite was the Apple & Cinnamon one but they were all really good.

TOP TIP
You don't always want a flavoured tea such as these to be too strong but at the same time you don't want to waste the contents of the tea bag. What I did was fill a glass with water and leave the used tea bag in it over night (in the fridge). In the morning I had a lovely ice tea! This worked best with the Super Fruit tea bag as it was the most refreshing flavour to drink as an ice tea.

Thank you for reading, make sure to check out teapigs. and leave me a comment telling me what your favourite tea is.

Books

Hello everyone!
I'm going to do another one of these posts over the summer break as this is when I will hopefully read some more books!
Here are some mini reviews (I don't want to give any spoilers) on a few books I've read.
Also I've added the links to all the books to buy on Amazon in the titles :) Enjoy!
Picture
1. Girl Online ~ Zoe Sugg
Picture
Penny has a secret.

Under the alias Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendship, boys, high school drama, her crazy family, and the panic attacks that have begun to take over her life. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets Noah, a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog.

But Noah has a secret, too, one that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.
I need to begin by commenting on how beautiful this book is! The colours and the layout of the cover are so pretty! Also I think this book really suits being hardback.
I really enjoyed this book because it is an easy read so you don't have to focus all of your attention on it which is nice if you are reading before bed or on holiday and you just want a calm book to read.
2. Molly Moon's Incredible Book of Hypnotism - Georgia Byng
Orphan Molly Moon was found as a baby in a box marked 'Moon's Marshmallows'.
For ten miserable years she's lived under the cruel rule of Miss Adderstone in grim Hardwick House. But her life changes overnight when she finds a mysterious book on hypnotism and discovers an amazing talent - the power to make people do anything she want them to. Escaping from the orphanage, Molly flies to New York in search of fame and fortune. But her adventures in hypnotism lead her into the clutches of a dangerous enemy . . .
Picture
I read this book a while ago so to be honest I can't really remember it too well. However, from what I can remember it was an interesting read. Also I think it is a good book for younger people as it isn't too complicated. Although, the overall idea of the book (hypnotism) is a deep and potentially adult theme.
3. Journey to the River Sea - Eva Ibbotson
Picture
It is 1910 and Maia, tragically orphaned at thirteen, has been sent from England to start a new life with distant relatives in Manaus, hundreds of miles up the Amazon. She is accompanied by an eccentric and mysterious governess who has secret reasons of her own for making the journey. Both soon discover an exotic world bursting with new experiences in Journey to the River Sea, Eva Ibbotson's highly colourful, joyous adventure.
I've read this book a few times and I really enjoyed it! It's interesting to read about the different feelings and viewpoints of the different characters throughout the book. The book kept me gripped throughout as (if I remember correctly) the focus shifts to different types of characters as the story progresses.
4. The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents - Terry Pratchett
Maurice, a streetwise tomcat, has the perfect money-making scam. He's found a stupid-looking kid who plays a pipe, and he has his very own plague of rats who are strangely educated, so Maurice can no longer think of them as 'lunch'. And everyone knows the stories about rats and pipers...
But when they reach the stricken town of Bad Blintz, the little con suddenly goes down the drain. For someone there is playing a different tune. A dark, shadowy tune. Something very, very bad is waiting in the cellars.
The educated rats must learn a new word.
EVIL.
It's not a game any more. It's a rat-eat-rat world down there. And that might only be the start...
Picture
I really enjoyed reading this book because it brings back a lot of memories from my primary school as my year group performed it as an end of year production at a theatre.
This book is a really nice size so it was perfect to take on holiday as it isn't too heavy and the actual book is small.

Thank you for reading! Leave a comment below with your favourite books.

Yes! Everyone should feel confident enough to be able to go out without make up on - everyone is beautiful without makeup too.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Well I look very different without eye makeup on + I'm really pale so without makeup I sometimes look kind of ill! haha
But I feel 'good' enough to go out of the house without makeup.

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I'm not really sure because I'm not very adventurous with makeup & I don't like spending money!
But I do like Collection makeup.

-What do you think of makeup?
I think makeup should be worn to make you feel happy and confident. Guys/girls should NOT call you pretty/beautiful just because you are wearing makeup, you are beautiful underneath the makeup too.
Also, makeup is an art so if you're good at it, well done! (I'm really not good at haha)

Lots of love,

Rocky Road Recipe

I absolutely adore these yummy treats! Here's a quick recipe I found on Nigella's website which I have changed a bit to make easier and to how I like them!

Ingredients
125g soft butter
300g chocolate (I use milk chocolate)
3 tbsp. golden syrup
200g digestive biscuits
100g mini marshmallows

Picture
Picture
Picture
1) Measure out the butter, chocolate and golden syrup and put them all into a saucepan.
Picture
Picture
2) Melt together the butter, chocolate and golden syrup in a saucepan.
**Make sure you don't burn it by stirring it constantly**

3) Measure out the digestive biscuits and put them into a freezer bag and then smash them into pieces with a rolling pin. Try to get varying sizes of pieces of biscuits (crumbs and bigger bits).
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
4) Add the biscuit pieces to the chocolate mixture in the saucepan and mix it all together.
5) Measure out the marshmallows (I bought a bag of 100g to make it easier), try not to eat them all before you add them to the pan and mix them into the chocolate mixture!
Picture

6) Spread the mixture out into a baking tray lined with tin foil and refrigerate for 2 hours or over night (if you can wait that long without eating it!)
This step was quite difficult for me as my baking tray was too big (Nigella recommends a 24cm square tin)
.
7) Finally, cut it into pieces and eat!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy the recipe.

Hello everyone!
Another quick post today :)

I'd just like to share with you my recent favourite youtuber, Sophie Louise.
She's a 22 year old British youtuber, who does fashion/lifestyle/beauty/weekly vlogs/other videos.

I love how 'real' she is. She's not one of the bigger youtubers who make videos that are all sponsored and get paid heaps of money for doing them. She has a full time job and you can really tell she enjoys making and sharing her videos with her subscribers.
So if you have a few seconds to spare please check out her channel (link below) and subscribe!

My Recent Favourites

14/4/2016

Hello, lovely people!
Here are a few of my recent favourite things :)
Picture
1. W7 - 'In the Buff' Eye shadow Pallet
Picture
Picture
This eye shadow pallet is one of many dupes for the NAKED Pallet (I think)!
I really like the colours because they are mostly nudes but there are also a few colours which could make a nice smoky eye (not that I can do one! Haha)
They blend well and I think with a good eye primer the colour would stay bright (if that's the right word...) all day because they are pretty pigmented.
2.  Miss Sporty 'Morning Baby' BB Cream
I've been really enjoying this BB Cream over the past few months.
I've been using it as a foundation primer and it seems to have been making my foundation last longer.
It doesn't have a high coverage but it's quite good for if you don't want to have much makeup on. I sometimes just put some of this on, then put a bit of powder on top.
Picture
3. Collection - Cover Up Stick
Picture
I really like this cover up stick at the moment.
Unfortunately it is a little bit too dark for me, but it is quite easy to blend out so it looks more natural.
It covers up blemished and any red patches quite well and also seems to make my foundation last longer.

4. essence - Superfine Eyeliner Pen
Picture
I didn't like this eyeliner when i first bought it as I found it difficult to use because it is quite bendy. A few weeks ago I decided to cut the end of it and reshape it to see if I found it easier to use. I now love it! I'm still not very good at eyeliner but now I've cut the end of the brush part a lot more of the eyeliner comes out, which means it is easier to slide it across your eyelid.
Only problem is it is now a bit thicker than it was before, but in my opinion it wasn't 'superfine' to start with.

5. Tanya Burr 'Afternoon Tea' Lipgloss
Picture
A got this as a birthday present from one of my friends and it's so cute!
I love the packaging :)
It's a beautiful colour and can be worn more subtle or bright because it can be built up.
Only thing I would say is your lips need to be smooth before applying this as the colour does tend to cling to any cracks or dryness.
6. Blistex - Intensive Moisturiser
Picture
This has been a savior for me recently!
My lips have been badly split and have been very dry.
This stuff has worked wonders, I definitely recommend it!

Favourite albms at the moment!!

I've just bought a new laptop so I'm excited to finally try and keep to a proper schedule for blog posts.

Vegan Pancakes (Mother's Day 2016)

5/3/2016

Picture
Hi everyone!
I don't know if I mentioned it before on my other baking post but I always bake without using eggs as my sister is allergic to them.
These egg free (vegan) pancakes are perfect for a Mother's Day treat.
You will need:
150g Plain Flour
2 Tablespoons Caster Sugar
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
300ml Water
1 Tablespoon Oil (I used sunflower oil but I don't think it really matters what you use)
1. Add all of the dry ingredients into a bowl (flour, sugar, baking powder, salt).
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
2. Mix all of the dry ingredients together and make a 'well' in the middle of the flour mix so you can pour the liquid into it later.
**Maybe make a better 'well' in the flour than I did because mine kind of failed!!**
Picture
Picture
3. In a small bowl whisk together the water and the oil.
(I just added the correct amount of oil to the jug which I'd measured the water in, to save me washing another bowl!)
Picture
Picture

4. Add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture and stir them together well.
There will be some lumps in the mixture even after mixing but don't worry they're supposed to be there.
Picture
Picture
5. Heat up a lightly oiled frying pan over a medium-high heat. As the oil gets hotter the better the pancakes will be.
Picture
6. Pour some of the mixture into the frying pan and let it cook until the edges are dry and the top of it goes bubbly. Then flip it over with a spatula and cook until brown on the other side.
Repeat this step with the remaining batter.
**Don't forget to keep adding oil to the pan**
To make the pancakes into perfect circles you would probably have to use a pancake ring. (There's a link at the bottom of this page for one I found on eBay).

Picture
Picture
7. Finally, serve the pancakes with your favourite topping!
(I used nutella which obviously isn't vegan but there's plenty of other different toppings out there which are vegan).

I hope everyone has a happy Mother's Day 2016!

See you all soon,
